Professional History

A stellar career in Public Health & Development

Ankita Choure is a Public Health and development professional based in India, currently with over 10 years of experience, having worked across national and international organisations. Her work sits at the intersection of health systems strengthening, public policy, fundraising, partnerships, and grassroots program implementation.

Currently serving as the Executive Director of the Community Aid and Sponsorship Programme (CASP) in Pune, Maharashtra, India, Ankita leads multi-state operations across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Delhi, overseeing programs in education, health, WASH, skills, and youth development. In this role, she is responsible for strategic planning, organisational governance, donor engagement, financial accountability, and building long-term partnerships with communities, funders, and boards.

Prior to this, Ankita has held senior technical roles spanning the WHO India Office (national and state levels), a public policy consulting firm and other non-profits. At WHO India, she has provided technical support to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, on the National Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Programme and social determinants of health, and has contributed to policy engagements and research initiatives in collaboration with various donor agencies and reputed technical knowledge partners across India. Her experience has bridged policy design and on-ground delivery, enabling her to translate evidence into action.

Ankita holds a Master of Science in Public Policy & Management from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, (UK) and a Master of Public Health from Pune University. She is a recipient of the University of Glasgow Country Scholarship and has published on topics including malnutrition, NCDs, patient safety, and medication adherence in peer-reviewed journals and the media.
